Mersea Island Oyster Run   - starts / ends at  Colchester  Bike  Hire

A wonderful estuary and coastal route of 30 miles which takes you along the River Colne from the centre of Colchester out to the home of Native Oysters via: Castle Park, Wivenhoe, Brightlingsea (where you catch the harbour ferry) to Mersea Island.  

Try Mahala's, The Company Shed or The Oyster Bar for the days freshly caught fish.  Return via Abberton Reservoir and the villages of Birch and Layer.
